About the Editors

R.K.R. Thornton has published on Clare, Hopkins, Ivor Gurney, and on the writers of the fin de siecle, notably Dowson and Theodore Wratislaw. The Decadent Dilemma appeared in 1983, and a revised version of his Penguin Poetry of the 1890s in 1997.

Ian Small has a special interest in late nineteenth-century British and French culture, and is the author of Conditions for Criticism (1991). He is joint general editor of the Oxford Complete Works of Oscar Wilde, and has edited much of Wilde's work.
